✨ Overview

iPhone devices (since iOS 11) capture photos in the .heic format by default. HEIC files are smaller in size while maintaining high image quality, but they have historically required conversion before uploading.

Creator Studio now supports HEIC image uploads directly through the web browser — including laptop and desktop environments, which are the recommended platforms for working in Creator Studio.

You no longer need to convert HEIC files to JPG or PNG before uploading.

📁 Before You Begin

Make sure your file meets the following conditions:

File type: .heic (image only)

• Not a Live Photo
• Not an Apple Motion Photo
• Not a video file saved with a .heic container
• Not a burst-mode animated file

📌 Important:
If your HEIC image includes motion (Live Photo format), only the still frame should be used. Motion-enabled HEIC files can cause upload or processing issues.

If unsure, export the photo as a still image from your iPhone before uploading.

🚀 How to Upload HEIC Images

Uploading a HEIC file works the same way as uploading a JPG or PNG.

1️⃣ 🔓 Open Your Project

Log in and open the yearbook project you are working on.

2️⃣ 🖼️ Access Photos

From the left toolbar, click Photos.

3️⃣ 📂 Choose a Folder

Select the folder where you want your image saved.

4️⃣ ➕ Click Add Photos

Inside the folder, click Add Photos.

5️⃣ ☁️ Choose Upload Source

Select your upload source (typically My Computer for HEIC files saved locally).

6️⃣ 📑 Select Your HEIC File

Choose your .heic image file from your device.

A preview should appear once selected.

7️⃣ ⬆️ Upload

Click Upload.

The file will process and appear in your folder like any standard JPG or PNG image.

⚠️ Common HEIC Issues

If your file does not upload correctly, check the following:

• File is a Live Photo (motion enabled)
• File contains embedded video
• File is exported incorrectly
• File is extremely large
• File is corrupted during transfer

If problems persist, export the image from your iPhone as:

JPG

PNG

Or use the “Save as Still Image” option
