Learn how to transfer projects and storefront ownership between Creator Studio accounts, including individual project transfers, full organization transfers, and best practices for adviser transitions.
Table of Contents
When advisers change from year to year, Creator Studio makes it easy to transfer ownership of projects and storefronts to a new account. Below are several recommended methods and important notes to help ensure a smooth transition.
📧 Recommended: Use a Shared Email Address
When possible, your organization should use a shared email address instead of a personal email account for Creator Studio access. This makes it much easier to transition ownership between advisers over time.
For example:
- Create a shared school or yearbook email account specifically for Creator Studio access.
- Avoid using a personal email address tied to an individual adviser.
- Pass the shared login credentials to the next adviser when leadership changes.
Once the shared email address has been created:
- Create a new Creator Studio account using the shared email.
- Use that account for project and storefront management moving forward.
This helps avoid account recovery issues and prevents sharing personal account information.
👤 Changing the Email Address on an Existing Account
If you currently use a personal email address and do not have sensitive payment information saved to the account, you may simply update the account email instead of transferring projects individually.
To change your account email:
- Sign in to Creator Studio.
-
Click your name in the top-right corner.

- Select Account.
- Click Profile.
- Update the account name and email address.
- Click Save.

📘 Transfer a Single Project
Projects may have multiple team members, but only one adviser/owner at a time. Transferring a project moves ownership to another Creator Studio account.
Important Notes
- You will lose adviser access to the project after the transfer is complete.
- The receiving account must already exist in Creator Studio.
- The project must already belong to an organization.
- If the receiving user is already listed as a team member on the project, remove them from the team before beginning the transfer.
To transfer a single project:
- Sign in to the account that currently owns the project.
- Navigate to the appropriate organization in Creator Studio.
- Click the Gear Icon next to “Change Organization” on the lower left.
- Select Transfer a single project.

- Choose the project from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the email address of the Creator Studio account receiving the project.
- Click Transfer.

The next time the new adviser signs in, the transferred project will appear under the associated organization.
Repeat these steps for each individual project you would like to transfer.
⚠️ Important Storefront Limitation
Projects currently attached to a storefront cannot be transferred.
Before transferring:
- Remove the project from the storefront.
-
Be aware that storefront-related information such as:
- Order reports
- Personalizations
-
Pricing information
may be lost during this process.
🏫 Transfer All Projects and Storefronts
If you need to transfer an entire organization, including all projects and storefronts, you can transfer everything at once to another Creator Studio account.
This is useful when:
- A new adviser has taken over the program
- Multiple projects need to be reassigned
- Existing storefronts also need to move to the new owner
To transfer all projects and storefronts:
- Sign in to the account that currently owns the project.
- Navigate to the appropriate organization in Creator Studio.
- Click the Gear Icon next to “Change Organization” on the lower left.
- Select Transfer all projects and storefronts.

- Enter the email address of the receiving Creator Studio account.
- Click Transfer.

The next time the receiving adviser signs in, all transferred projects and storefronts will appear under the organization.
⚠️ Important
Once the transfer is complete:
- You will no longer have access to the transferred projects or storefronts.
- The receiving account must already exist before the transfer can occur.
