✨ Overview

If you have already designed a page or spread that you would like to reuse, you don’t have to recreate it from scratch. Creator Studio allows you to import existing page designs from your current project or from previous projects, making it easy to duplicate layouts, styles, and formatting.

🖱 How to Import a Page Design

1️⃣ Open the Templates Panel

In the editor: Select a page, then go to the left toolbar and click Templates.

2️⃣ Click Import Page Designs

Inside the Templates panel, select Import Page Designs.

3️⃣ Choose a Project

A dropdown menu will appear allowing you to select the project you want to import from. You can choose:

your current project

a previously created project

🌐 Projects Available

Only projects with the same book size will appear. Projects with different dimensions are automatically hidden because their layouts would not fit correctly.

4️⃣ Select a Page or Spread

After selecting a project, you will see a scrollable list of page thumbnails. Click the page you want to import.

The selected design will immediately apply to your current page.

⚠️ Before You Import

Importing a design will replace everything currently on your page. If your page already contains content, it will be removed when the imported layout is applied.

📄 Page Compatibility Rules

Imports must match the page type you are working on:

📄 Single page → can only import single-page designs

📖 Two-page spread → can only import spread designs

❌ You can only import designs from freeform pages.

You cannot import from:

  • portrait pages
  • index pages
  • parent ad pages

Pages that cannot be imported will appear grayed out in the selection list.

🧠 When to Use Import Designs

Importing page designs is especially useful when you want to:

  • reuse layouts across sections
  • maintain consistent formatting
  • duplicate themed spreads
  • save time on repetitive page styles

🏁 Final Tip

If you plan to reuse a design multiple times, consider creating a template page first. This allows you to import the layout repeatedly without rebuilding it each time.
