🧩 Overview ⚠️ Important: Portrait Pages 📖 Step 1: Open a Page in Your Ladder 🎨 Step 2: Select or Apply a Freeform Layout 🖼️ Step 3: Autoflow Your Photos 🔄 Step 4: Continue Autoflowing Additional Pages 💡 Why Use Autoflow Photos?

🧩 Overview

The Autoflow Photos feature in Creator Studio allows you to quickly populate freeform layouts with photos from your project folders.

  • Autoflow automatically places images into available photo placeholders, matching image aspect ratios to the most appropriate positions within your layout.
  • Autoflow works with any freeform layout, whether it has already been applied to a page, selected from the Layouts tab, or added from Templates.
  • This feature is especially useful for candid pages, themed layouts, and full-page spreads.

⚠️ Important: Portrait Pages

Autoflow Photos is not available for portrait pages. This feature is designed specifically for freeform layouts containing photo placeholders. Portrait pages use a separate process for placing and organizing student portraits.

📖 Step 1: Open a Page in Your Ladder

Open your project and navigate to the Ladder.

  • Locate the page you want to design.
  • Click the page to open it in the editor.
  • You can use a page with an existing freeform layout or apply a new layout.

🎨 Step 2: Select or Apply a Freeform Layout

Autoflow works with any freeform layout containing photo placeholders.

You can use:

  • Existing Layout: A freeform layout already applied to your page.
  • Layouts Tab: A layout selected from the Layouts tab on the left toolbar.
  • Templates: A layout selected from the Templates panel, including layouts from your project's current theme.

For this example, we'll select a candid template from our current theme.

  • Open the Templates panel.
  • Locate your current theme.
  • Select a candid template, such as Kinder Candids.
  • Drag the template onto your page.

  • If the selected template is designed as a spread, Creator Studio will prompt you to convert the page into a spread.

  • Click to confirm the conversion.
  • Your layout will now display photo placeholders ready for Autoflow.

🖼️ Step 3: Autoflow Your Photos

  • Select the Layouts tab from the left toolbar.

  • Locate and click the Autoflow Photos button.

  • Select the folder containing the photos you want to use, such as your Candids folder.

  • Click Autoflow to begin placing your photos.

  • Creator Studio will automatically populate the available photo placeholders, matching the aspect ratios of your images to the layout.

📌 Note: Portrait folders are disabled from selection.

🔄 Step 4: Continue Autoflowing Additional Pages

You can continue using Autoflow to populate additional pages throughout your yearbook.

  • Return to your Ladder and select the next page you want to design.
  • Use an existing freeform layout or apply another layout from Layouts or Templates.

  • Convert the layout into a spread if prompted.
  • Open the Layouts tab and select Autoflow Photos.
  • Choose your photo folder and click Autoflow again.

  • You can continue selecting the same photo folder when populating additional pages.
  • Creator Studio will select different photos from that folder for subsequent layouts, helping you quickly fill multiple pages without manually placing each image.

💡 Why Use Autoflow Photos?

⚡ Save Time: Populate multiple photo placeholders automatically.

📐 Match Image Proportions: Photos are assigned to placeholders based on their aspect ratios.

📚 Build Pages Faster: Fill candid pages and full spreads without manually dragging each photo.

🎨 Flexible Layout Options: Use existing layouts, layouts from the toolbar, or templates from your project's theme.

With Autoflow Photos, you can transform empty freeform layouts into completed photo arrangements in just a few clicks.
