Using Advanced Options in Creator Studio

Use the Advanced Options menu to manage page elements, configure design guides, control page numbers, and create reusable text styles.

The Advanced Options menu contains tools for editing objects, managing page layouts, configuring alignment aids, and applying consistent formatting throughout your project.

 


🧰 Open Advanced Options

In the page editor, hover over Advanced in the upper-right corner.

The menu displays the available tools and their keyboard shortcuts.


✂️ Manage Selected Objects

Select an object on the page, then open Advanced to use the following commands:

  • Copy: Copies the selected object.
  • Paste: Adds a copied object to the page.
  • Cut: Removes the object while keeping it available to paste.
  • Paste in Place: Pastes the object in its original position.
  • Delete: Removes the selected object from the page.
  • Clear Image: Removes the photo while keeping its image frame.
  • Undo: Reverses the previous action.

📖 Convert a Page to a Spread

Use this option to convert a single page into a two-page spread or convert a spread back into separate pages.

  1. Open Advanced.
  2. Select Convert Page to Spread or the available conversion option.
  3. Remove existing page backgrounds if necessary.
  4. Select a background to apply across the spread.

Objects and images can also be resized or repositioned so they extend across both pages.


📐 Configure Rulers, Grids, and Guides

Open Advanced, then select Rulers, Grids & Guides.

Use these settings to show or hide:

  • Crop zone
  • Margins
  • Guidelines
  • Rulers
  • Columns
  • Grid lines

You can also:

  • Display 8, 10, or 12 columns.
  • Change ruler measurements between picas and inches.
  • Enable grid lines for more precise object placement.

Click Done to apply your settings.


🧲 Adjust Snap Alignment

Snap Alignment automatically aligns objects with selected page references.

  1. Open Advanced.
  2. Select Snap Alignment.
  3. Choose which references objects should snap to, including:
    • Page center
    • Other objects
    • Margins
    • Guidelines
    • Grid lines
    • Columns
  4. Click Done.

Grid lines, columns, or guidelines must be enabled before they can be used for snapping.


📏 Create and Remove Guidelines

Guidelines provide custom horizontal and vertical alignment references.

To create a guideline:

  1. Click and drag from the top ruler to create a horizontal guideline.
  2. Click and drag from the side ruler to create a vertical guideline.
  3. Move objects near the guideline to snap them into position.

To remove all guidelines:

  1. Open Rulers, Grids & Guides.
  2. Click Clear All.
  3. Click Done.

🔢 Configure Page Numbers

Use Page Number Settings to control how page numbers appear throughout the project.

  1. Open Advanced.
  2. Select Page Number Settings.
  3. Configure the available options, including:
    • Showing or hiding page numbers
    • Displaying a page number on the first page
    • Font
    • Style
    • Size
    • Color
    • Placement
  4. Click Save.

The selected formatting and placement are applied throughout the document.


📝 Create and Apply Text Styles

Text Styles allow you to save reusable formatting for headings, captions, and body text.

Create a Text Style

  1. Open Advanced.
  2. Select Text Styles.
  3. Create a new style.
  4. Enter a style name.
  5. Configure the font, size, formatting, and color.
  6. Click Save.

Apply a Text Style

  1. Select a text box.
  2. Open Text Styles.
  3. Click Apply Text Style.
  4. Select the saved style.
  5. Choose where to apply it:
    • All text boxes on the page
    • All text boxes on the spread
    • Only the selected text box

The selected text updates to match the saved style.
